Digital twins are mainly used to model complex systems, in which it is difficult to predict their effects accurately.
The first steps were taken by PressiousArvanitidis to create our own digital twin, with the encouragement and support of the Change2Twin organization and the collaboration with the company B.O.C. As each print job is unique, there are several processes and phases involved from initial communication with the customer, to production and final delivery of the product. So, we spent a lot of time choosing the right phase to implement the digital twin. PressiousArvanitidis has many different production lines and choosing the most appropriate one depending on the nature of the print job is not always an easy task, despite our highly experienced staff and systems. Therefore, using the knowledge and experience of both the person in charge of the production, combined with the people from IT, R&D and Data Scientists, we have successfully created the digital twin, which using past data can choose in the best possible way the appropriate production line, always aiming at the right quality, but also considering the optimal combination of speed / energy saving and environmentally friendly use. This way we all benefit!
Digital twins, in general, are used in various fields such as science, engineering, digital technology, etc. They can consist of data, algorithms, models or even images and videos.
They can be used for many purposes. In science, they can be used to simulate and analyze processes and phenomena. In engineering, to develop and control systems and mechanical structures. In digital technology, to develop digital products and services. In digital design, to create images, graphics, animation and special effects.
A digital twin can be real or abstract, depending on the purpose of its use. Sometimes the purpose may be to improve research and development, sometimes to improve efficiency, sometimes to predict and simulate complex processes. Digital twins are a growing market and demand is expected to grow exponentially in the coming years.
But the question arises: Do you digital twin? Digitalization in production is the key in our company we serve our customer in the best and desirable way, by reducing production times and increasing quality of our production processes and keeping up with the most modern equipment and tools in our field.
