Tetra Pak introduces Tetra Pak® Ice Cream Wrap, an innovative ice cream packaging solution made with up to 85% paper sourced from FSC™-certified forests and other controlled sources.
The packaging stands out for its particularly thin profile (53 GSM) — up to 50% thinner than alternative paper-based solutions — as well as its advanced multilayer structure. Despite its minimal thickness, it provides excellent product protection throughout the cold chain, thanks to specialized protective layers, minimal polymer content, ink, and varnish.
This development responds to growing market demands. According to the Innova Lifestyle & Attitudes Survey 2024 and Innova Packaging Survey 2024, nearly one-quarter (24%) of consumers worldwide consider sustainability an important aspect of ice cream packaging.
The new solution is already being tested under real production conditions in Europe in collaboration with manufacturers such as Sweden’s Triumf Glass. Tetra Pak plans a phased commercial rollout starting in Q4 2026, beginning with the European market.
